Canada’s new Emissions Reduction Plan focuses on emissions from buildings, transportation, oil and gas, and the electricity grid on the way to net-zero emissions by 2050.

In this week’s podcast we talk to Binnu Jeyakumar who specializes in decarbonizing the grid at the Pembina Institute.

She says this plan finally backs up lofty ambitions with some actions.

“This is a turning point for climate action in Canada. It’s the first time that we have a detailed plan on how we get to 40% emission reductions from 2005 by 2030. And this plan is actually required under our net zero emissions accountability act,” says Jeyakumar.

In this week’s podcast we talk to Jeyakumar about decarbonizing electricity, producing clean electricity and getting Canada’s grid to net-zero.
